Build a free 4-week, reward-based training plan for one habit you want to change. The plan is practice you can do at home. It is not a board-and-train program and it is not a fix for aggression.
How the four weeks are organized
- Name one habit, such as jumping, loose-leash walking, or settling at the door.
- Follow short daily sessions that reward the behavior you want.
- Raise the difficulty only after the current step is reliable.
When to hire a trainer
Get in-person help for bites, fear that is getting worse, or any plan that would use pain or intimidation. Reward-based trainers can coach the same habit face to face. The directory lists trainers by state.
FAQ
- Is this punishment-based training?
- No. The plan uses rewards and management. Do not add corrections the plan does not describe.
- Can I train more than one habit?
- Make a separate plan for each habit. Practicing one skill at a time is easier for the dog to learn.
